Job summary

Redpath is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Fitter/Mechanic to join the Cannington operation in Queensland. You will work on underground mining equipment within a high-performance team and contribute to reliable mining operations.

You’ll perform scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with safety standards, while maintaining a clean, safe workshop environment. This role supports long-term career growth within Redpath’s global family.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Diesel Fitter or Mechanic.
• Experience with underground mining equipment preferred (Sandvik).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Valid manual driver's license.
• First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.

What You’ll Do

• Work a family friendly 7/7 roster (12-hour shifts)
• Perform scheduled maintenance & breakdown repairs on underground plant
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs or component replacements
• Keep equipment compliant with site and safety standards
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter / Mechanic
• Experience on underground mining equipment (Sandvik preferred)
• Strong diagnostic & fault finding skills
• Valid manual driver's licence
• First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
