Job summary

Graymont (Australia) Pty Ltd in Galong, NSW, is seeking a Diesel Fitter to join our maintenance team. You will be trade-qualified, with strong mechanical aptitude and be able to work with a small crew on repair, preventative maintenance, fabrication and some mobile plant support.

The role is normally a day shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays and overtime for unplanned breakdowns. A current manual driver's license and a commitment to Quality, Health & Safety are essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant trade qualification
• A current manual driver's license
• Experience with crushing and screening, milling equipment as well as sound welding and fabrication skills (highly regarded but not essential)
• A positive attitude towards and commitment to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements and legislation
• Previous success in working as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Repair and breakdown tasks as part of a small maintenance team
• Preventative maintenance and servicing of plant equipment
• Fabrication and minor fabrication work as required
• Mobile plant assistance and support as needed
• Occasional overtime for unplanned breakdowns (occasional Saturdays)

Our Role

We are looking for a Diesel Fitter to join our hardworking team at our Galong. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be trade-qualified and have good mechanical aptitude, with a willingness for ongoing training. You will be part of a small team of Maintenance tradespeople with good levels of autonomy and varied work including repair and breakdown, preventative maintenance, fabrication and some mobile plant assistance.

Ordinarily, this will be a day shift Monday to Friday role; however, you will be required to work on some Saturdays and be available to attend unplanned breakdowns, whereby overtime will be accrued.

The successful applicant will have;

• A relevant trade qualification
• A current manual driver’s license
• Experience with crushing and screening, milling equipment as well as sound welding and fabrication skills (highly regarded but not essential)

Future training in various aspects of either Operations or Quality is available for the right candidate.
