Job summary

Booth Transport Pty Ltd, Laverton North VIC, is seeking a skilled Diesel Motor Mechanic to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You will ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer standards.

The role requires diagnosing faults, performing routine servicing, and maintaining thorough repair records. You will work with diagnostic tools, read technical manuals and schematics, and repair or replace engine components, fuel systems,

Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines and related systems.
Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections on diesel vehicles and equipment.
Repair or replace defective engine components, fuel systems, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic systems.
Conduct engine tune-ups and performance testing.
Use diagnostic tools and computerized testing equipment to identify faults.
Dismantle and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
Ensure all work complies with workplace safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure roadworthiness and operational safety.
Provide recommendations on maintenance schedules and repairs.
