Qualifications

• Candidates should have relevant automotive, diesel technology or mechanical training, qualifications and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect diesel motors and mechanical components.
• Identify faults and determine repair requirements.
• Test diesel motors and mechanical systems.
• Assist with diagnosis of mechanical faults.
• Service diesel engines and associated systems.
• Inspect and maintain transmissions.
• Inspect and maintain suspension systems.
• Inspect steering and braking systems.
• Remove, dismantle and inspect mechanical components.
• Repair or replace worn components under supervision.
• Work with fuel injection, cooling and lubrication systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment safely.
• Test systems after servicing and repair.
• Perform routine maintenance activities.
