Job summary

KPI People Ltd is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technician to join our franchised dealership in Liverpool. You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults, perform advanced repairs, and ensure service quality meets manufacturer standards.

The role offers a basic salary of £36,000–£39,000 with an uncapped OTE of £48,000, and you’ll have access to manufacturer training, progression opportunities, and a generous benefits package. Mon-Fri hours with overtime options.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• Manufacturer Accredited Diagnostic Technician qualification.
• 2 years Diagnostic Technician experience.
• Full and clean UK driving licence.
• Own tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance to manufacturer and safety standards.
• Interpret manuals, schematics and service bulletins to resolve issues.
• Ensure work is completed efficiently meeting productivity targets.
• Carry out servicing and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• MOT tests to DVSA standards if qualified.

Basic Salary - £39000

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
• Perform advanced repairs and maintenance on vehicles/equipment to manufacturer and safety standards
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to resolve issues accurately
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently, meeting productivity and turnaround targets
• Carry out Servicing & Repairs to Manufacturer Standards
• Cambelt, Clutch, Gearbox & Engine Repairs/Replacements
• Electrical & Mechanical Diagnostics
• Warranty Repairs
• News Car PDI’s and Used Car Multi Point Checks
• Carry out MOT Tests to DVSA standards (if qualified)

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance
• Manufacturer Accredited Diagnostic Technician qualification
• 2 years Diagnostic Technician Experience
• Full and Clean UK Driving Licence
• Own Tools

Desirable Requirements

• EV/Hybrid Accreditation
• MOT Licence (Class 4 & 7)

Salary, OTE & Working Hours

• Basic salary of £36,000 - £39,000 depending on experience and qualifications
• Uncapped OTE of £48,000
• Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm
• Saturday mornings on a rota paid as overtime
