Job summary

SA Health is building an Anatomical Pathology Talent Pool (TGO2-MES1) to support diagnostic and mortuary services across multiple SA sites, including RAH, Frome Road, FMC, WCH and TQEH. The pool offers opportunities for Technical Officers and early‑career Medical Scientists to contribute to high‑quality pathology work.

You will collaborate with pathologists, scientists, technicians and hospital staff, participate in quality assurance, accreditation processes and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Recognised qualifications aligned with NPAAC requirements, with eligibility to practise as a Technical Officer (TGO2) or Medical Scientist (MeS-1)
• Demonstrated technical capability across histopathology and/or cytopathology, including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, specialised stains, frozen sections, immunohistochemistry or cytology preparation
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet clinical deadlines and work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
• Quality‑focused and collaborative communicating professionally with pathologists and colleagues while supporting accreditation standards, confidentiality, safety and continuous improvement
