Job summary

SA Health is seeking talented Technical Officers (TGO1) to support Anatomical Pathology and Cytology across multiple South Australian sites, including Women's & Children’s Hospital, Royal Adelaide, Flinders Medical Centre, and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

In these ongoing/temporary contracts up to 12 months, you will assist with specimen preparation, embedding, sectioning, staining, and reference to ISO/NATA standards, contributing to accurate testing and timely reporting while rotating across

Qualifications

• Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent in a medical laboratory or technical discipline
• Experience in histopathology, cytology, and specimen processing including sectioning and staining
• Strong technical, manual and computer skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
• Excellent communication, organisation, problem-solving and teamwork skills, with commitment to ISO/NATA standards

Responsibilities

• Support specimen preparation, processing, staining and laboratory maintenance
• Embed, section, cut frozen sections and perform immunohistochemical and cytological techniques
• Assist with equipment operation, calibration, maintenance and quality control
• Contribute to workflow efficiency, specimen management and staff training
