Job summary

EML in Sydney is seeking a DevOps Lead to drive automation, strengthen our cloud infrastructure and accelerate software delivery. This role combines hands-on technical work with people leadership to grow a high-performing team.

You’ll partner with AI, infrastructure and security teams to implement secure, scalable solutions across AWS and Azure, aligning with APRA CPS 234 and ISO 27001 controls. This is a permanent, full-time position in Sydney.

Qualifications

• Full Australian working rights
• 7+ years IT experience, including 5 years in DevOps/cloud infra, and 3 years leading a technical team
• Hands-on expertise across AWS and Azure hybrid environments, Terraform, Ansible, Linux and scripting
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitOps and progressive delivery, supporting microservices
• Security-focused approach with cloud security frameworks, risk management and disaster recovery
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement; basic AI/LLM knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the DevOps team, setting engineering standards, prioritising work and coaching
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation for fast, reliable, secure releases across cloud and on‑prem
• Design and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible, improving scalability and cost efficiency
• Manage Kubernetes environments and containerised applications, ensuring availability and DR
• Strengthen monitoring, observability and incident response to proactively identify issues
• Partner with AI, infrastructure and security teams to improve developer tools and security in delivery workflows
