Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a senior Platform Engineer to lead end-to-end development of Mesh platform capabilities, including APIs, microservices, and integration services. You will provide technical leadership to engineers, ensure architecture standards and security controls, and drive CI/CD improvements across multiple tools and cloud environments.

Responsibilities include designing scalable APIs, guiding platform operations on Azure/AWS, leading incident resolution, and mentoring junior engineers

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall IT experience with hands-on integration platforms, API/microservices engineering, DevOps, and cloud-based delivery.
• 5+ years of platform engineering, integration architecture, API development, middleware, or cloud-native delivery.
• 2+ years in a lead engineer/technical lead role managing delivery and guiding teams.

Job description

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, enhancement, release, and support of Mesh platform capabilities supporting APIs, microservices, and integration services.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and developers, ensuring adherence to architecture standards, coding practices, security controls, quality expectations, and delivery timelines.
• Design and implement scalable APIs, microservices, integration flows, automation scripts, and platform utilities using approved enterprise technology patterns.
• Drive CI/CD implementation and improvements using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and related DevOps toolchains.
• Support cloud-native platform operations across Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, API gateways, service discovery, and containerized runtime environments.
• Lead incident resolution, production support, problem management, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Automate recurring operational activities using scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or equivalent automation frameworks to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, QA teams, security teams, release managers, and client stakeholders to deliver platform changes successfully.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, capacity, and SLA compliance, and recommend improvements to strengthen platform stability.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, release planning, deployment governance, and production readiness assessments.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, deployment guides, operational procedures, integration specifications, and knowledge articles.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, support technical upskilling, and promote engineering best practices across the team.
• 10+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on exposure to integration platforms, API/microservices engineering, DevOps, and cloud-based platform delivery.
• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, integration architecture, API development, middleware, or cloud-native application delivery.
• 2+ years of experience in a lead engineer, platform lead, technical lead, or similar role managing technical delivery and guiding engineering teams.
• Prior experience in banking or financial services domain is highly preferred, especially in digital banking, payments, integration platforms, or enterprise API ecosystems.
