Job summary

HUB24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design and automate scalable cloud platforms across AWS and GCP, driving CI/CD, security, and reliability. You will lead initiatives with Platform, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

The role requires strong leadership, engineering excellence, and a track record of improving platform reliability and developer enablement in an Agile environment. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, cloud or platform engineering.
• Proven experience with enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Experience leading cloud migration or modernization initiatives.
• Experience supporting production systems in high-availability environments.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, or Terraform are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable cloud platforms on AWS and/or GCP.
• Develop and manage IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Establish cloud security, governance, and networking standards.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules for consistency.
• Design and manage Kubernetes-based container platforms.
• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.
• Automate build, test, deploy and release processes.
• Drive DevOps adoption and self-service platform capabilities.
• Set engineering standards and automation-first practices.
• Monitor, logs, tracing, and alerting; support SRE practices.
• Lead incident management and continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security to ensure secure-by-design solutions.

The Senior DevOps Engineer is a senior technical specialist responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and continuously improving cloud platforms, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability solutions, and operational excellence practices. This role partners closely with Platform, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product, and Test teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and highly available technology solutions. The position provides technical leadership, drives DevOps maturity, and champions automation, innovation, and engineering best practices across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms across AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Establish cloud networking, security, identity management, governance, and platform standards.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules to support consistency and operational efficiency.
• Design, administer, and optimise container platforms, including Kubernetes environments.

DevOps & Automation

• Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.
• Automate software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Drive adoption of DevOps principles, developer enablement, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Establish engineering standards, controls, quality gates, and automation-first practices.

Reliability, Security & Operations

• Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
• Support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, resilience testing, and service reliability improvements.
• Lead production incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, secrets management, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to ensure secure‑by‑design solutions and adherence to governance standards.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews across engineering teams.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and platform strategy.
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges and operational issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering excellence across the organisation.

What you bring

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 7 years' experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience operating and supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Demonstrated success implementing DevOps, automation, and platform engineering practices.
• Experience leading cloud migration, platform transformation, or modernization initiatives.
• Experience supporting business-critical production systems in high-availability environments.
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, or Terraform are highly desirable.
