Job summary

HUB24 Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build and evolve the myhub platform, delivering scalable, secure and high-performing solutions used by thousands of advisers nationwide. You will work with Product, Architecture and Engineering leaders, influencing technical direction and solving complex challenges across front-end, back-end and integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise-grade software.
• Proficient in Node.js with NestJS; strong JS/TS skills.
• Experience designing APIs and microservices; knowledge of security, scalability and reliability.
• Database expertise with SQL Server or similar relational databases; NoSQL familiarity a plus.
• Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery practices.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development approaches and fintech/wealth tech context.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building and evolving the myhub platform, delivering scalable, secure and high‑performing solutions used by thousands of advisers nationwide. Working closely with Product, Architecture and Engineering leaders, you’ll influence technical direction, contribute to architectural decisions, and solve complex engineering challenges across customer‑facing applications, integrations and backend services. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership, mentoring others, and leveraging modern technologies, including AI‑assisted development, to build impactful products.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build and maintain scalable web applications, APIs and microservices.
• Develop clean, secure, testable and maintainable code.
• Create modern, intuitive and engaging digital experiences using contemporary front‑end technologies.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture and Engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve engineering efficiency and outcomes.
• Build scalable and resilient solutions that support high transaction volumes.
• Implement caching, optimisation and performance improvement strategies.
• Optimise database queries and data access patterns to maximise application performance.
• Ensure the security, reliability and resilience of systems and services.
• Conduct peer code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, coding standards and development guidelines.
• Champion automated testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proactively identify, manage and remediate technical debt to ensure long‑term platform sustainability.
• Mentor, coach and support engineers across the team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to successful delivery outcomes.
• Partner with Product, DevOps, Cyber Security, Architecture and Support teams to achieve business objectives.
• Provide support for production systems, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
• Contribute to platform stability, monitoring and ongoing service continuity.
• Participate in occasional after‑hours support activities as required.

What you bring

You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.

Experience & Skills

Minimum 7+ years' experience in Software Engineering or a related senior technical role. Experience designing and building enterprise‑grade software applications.

• Strong experience with Node.js (NestJS highly regarded).
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with modern web application frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server or similar).
• Experience developing and consuming APIs and microservices.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with automated testing, debugging, performance tuning and optimisation.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of caching technologies and performance engineering.
• Exposure to Microsoft .NET (C# .NET Core).
• Experience within financial services, wealth management or fintech environments.
• Experience building or integrating AI‑enabled solutions.
