Our Branch - Development Services

We play a key role to facilitate Brisbane’s growth so our unique, subtropical capital continues to offer quality of life for visitors and residents.

Our branch is the destination for applications relating to development, including engineering and plumbing. We have an amazing team of dedicated, passionate and service-focused professional people who have our residents, building construction industry and communities at the heart of what they do.

The Role

There are multiple temporary full-time Development Support Officer vacancies within our Development Services team. These roles are based at Brisbane Square.

As a Development Support Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our branch delivers high-level customer service.

Having an eye for detail, your experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment means you will have a demonstrable track record of completing tasks quickly and accurately.

Possessing proficiency in the use of enterprise software packages including Microsoft Office, you will be able to understand the associated development rules, regulations, and legislation that guide our daily activities.

Being a Development Support Officer is a great opportunity for you to develop your knowledge of the development assessment process as you will be regularly engaging with an array of stakeholders such as planners, engineers, specialists and plumbers while participating in a variety of activities including business projects and improvement activities.

To be successful you will have:

  • the ability to contribute to team direction, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence
  • experience in supporting a team to achieve outcomes and timeframes
  • experience in completing high-quality operational tasks accurately and on time
  • experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers
  • experience in/or ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of and apply relevant legislation and Council policies and procedures
  • experience in communicating clearly in writing and orally and demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • a high level of proficiency in commonly used computer systems and software.
