Job summary

STP Consultants in Cairns seeks an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to deliver projects from concept to construction. You will undertake feasibility studies, design roads, drainage, and stormwater solutions, and prepare tender documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in civil engineering, 5+ years in a consultancy setting, and knowledge of Australian Standards. RPEQ is desirable; Australian citizenship or PR preferred. Office-based, with flexible hours and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Experience with 12D, AutoCAD, DRAINS, MUSIC or XPStorm highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, planning frameworks, engineering codes and local authority requirements.
• RPEQ registration (or ability to gain) highly desirable.
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Responsibilities

• Deliver civil engineering projects from concept and feasibility through to design and construction.
• Undertake technical and feasibility studies, including site investigations and assessments.
• Prepare detailed civil designs and engineering reports for industrial, commercial and land development projects.
• Design roads, drainage, earthworks and flexible and rigid pavements.
• Develop stormwater management solutions, including flood modelling and civil DA documentation.
• Prepare tender, design and construction documentation.
• Conduct civil site inspections and provide construction support to ensure quality project outcomes.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and resolve design solutions.
• Assist with project planning, budgets, quality assurance and delivery.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes.
• Support and share knowledge with junior engineers and designers.
• Contribute to the continued growth of our Cairns and Far North Queensland team

About the role:
