The opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Development Director to shape and progress the development potential of its property investment portfolio.

This mandate combines strategic assessment with hands-on execution. You will define the highest and best use of individual sites, lead planning and design, progress authority approvals and assess the most appropriate development and capital structures for each opportunity.

The portfolio's current potential uses include industrial, data centres and residential apartments, with the scope to refine these outcomes through feasibility, planning and market assessment.

Key responsibilities
  • Establish a development strategy for the portfolio, assessing highest and best use, commercial feasibility, planning pathways and delivery options.
  • Lead planning and design across the sites, coordinating consultants and securing relevant authority approvals.
  • Progress development applications to support value uplift and inform potential market sounding.
  • Assess opportunities for joint ventures and other development and capital structures, including sites better suited to delivery through external development partners.
  • Appoint and manage consultants and structure general contractor engagements to support development and delivery.
  • Manage development budgets, programmes and risks, providing clear recommendations on priorities and next steps.
About you

You will be an experienced development leader with strong commercial judgement and the ability to move from portfolio strategy into practical execution.

Your background will include:
  • Senior development experience across industrial, data centres and/or residential apartments, with the ability to assess opportunities across different asset classes.
  • A strong track record in feasibility, highest and best use assessment, planning, design and development approvals.
  • Experience evaluating and structuring joint ventures, development partnerships and capital arrangements.
