Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking an experienced Development Compliance Officer for a 12-month temporary full-time contract with a Regional Council. The role is Beaudesert-based, offering $45+ per hour plus super.

You will support compliance investigations and enforcement, deliver regulatory services, and interact with government agencies and community stakeholders. Key responsibilities include inspections, enforcement actions, reports, and processing permits under supervision.

Qualifications

• This role requires compliance and enforcement experience in local government.
• A certificate in local government compliance is preferred or similar.
• A tertiary land use planning qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake inspections, investigations and complaint management under planning schemes and local laws.
• Prepare reports, evidence briefs, notices and enforcement recommendations.
• Initiate enforcement processes and attend court when required.
• Assess permits and approvals under guidance of team leader.
• Liaise with internal/external stakeholders to advise on compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate records in line with policy and legislation.
