Job summary

Public Sector People are assisting a Regional Council to recruit an experienced Development Compliance Officer for a 12-month temporary full-time role, with potential extension. The position pays from $45 per hour plus super and starts ASAP.

The role supports compliance activities through investigations, enforcement, stakeholder engagement and regulatory service delivery within the Council's Regulatory Services Team. A current C Class Driver Licence is required.

Qualifications

• Certificate in local government compliance or related enforcement experience.
• Land use planning qualification will be highly regarded.
• Current C Class Driver Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake inspections, investigations and complaint management relating to planning schemes, local laws and State legislation.
• Prepare investigation reports, briefs, notices and enforcement recommendations.
• Initiate and manage enforcement processes including court matters when required.
• Assess and process permits and approvals under guidance.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates on compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate records in line with Council policies and legislative requirements.
