Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Murwillumbah is seeking a Technical Officer to support the Development Assessment team. You will assist experienced Town Planners to assess and process development applications, undertake written correspondence, and provide information to applicants, government authorities, and the public.

The role offers a base salary of $77,555 to $91,053 per annum plus 12% super, a 70-hour, 9-day fortnight, and opportunities for training and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage complaints from the public, government bodies or other stakeholders.
• Strong customer service experience, including front counter interactions.
• Knowledge of the development process in a local government context.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced Town Planners to assess and process development applications.
• Undertake written correspondence regarding development matters and general customer service.
• Provide advice and information on development matters to the public, applicants, authorities and staff.
• Undertake work related to strategic planning from time to time.
