Job Summary

This role supports the Digital Platforms team by designing, developing, and delivering robust, scalable technology solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Developer, you will contribute to building and delivering enterprise projects and improvement initiatives.

You will be responsible for contributing to and executing the software development activities throughout the software development lifecycle which would include:

  • Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Architects and stakeholders throughout the SDLC
  • Design, develop and maintain web applications and APIs using C# .NET, Angular, and SQL Server
  • Enhance and refactor existing applications for performance, reliability, and maintainability and support migration to the Cloud (Azure).
  • Use AI-supported development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and similar coding assistants to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and refactoring activities.
  • Review, validate, and refine AI-generated code and recommendations to ensure they meet business requirements, coding standards, architectural patterns, security obligations, and maintainability expectations.
  • Validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
  • Support the adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices across the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to enhance platform capability, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Build and enhance front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Perform code reviews, testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities
  • Support system integrations with internal, third-party, and client platforms

Essential Requirements:
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and web application design.
  • Strong experience with .NET (4.8+), .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC/Razor, and C# using ADO.NET and/or Entity Framework.
  • Experience building enterprise applications and Web APIs. Familiarity with WCF is a plus.
  • Front-end experience with Angular (preferred) / React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap
  • Database experience with SQL Server (preferred) with strong relational database concepts.
  • Strong advocate of unit testing and striving to achieve maximum unit test coverage.
  • Exposure to cloud platform such as Azure e.g. App Services, Azure SQL, Key Vaults.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for task management, using TFS and Git as version control protocols and developing CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and cloud deployments.
  • Familiarity with Agile ways of working.
  • Good knowledge of secure coding practices and cyber security concepts applied in Software Development (e.g. OWASP Top 10).
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar coding assistants to support software delivery activities.
  • Ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs for correctness, maintainability, security, and alignment with enterprise engineering standards.
  • Foundational understanding of AI concepts and responsible AI principles, particularly the practical use of AI within regulated financial services environments.
Desirable Criteria:
  • 6+ years’ experience in software development or similar role.
  • Experience in financial services or insurance.
  • Familiarity with modern Microsoft frameworks e.g. Blazor, Aspire etc.
  • Familiarity with Containers (Docker) and building container-based web applications.
  • Familiarity with using Coding Agents (e.g. GitHub Copilot etc.) to write code.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts (e.g. MCP Servers, AI Agent development etc.)
