Job summary

mybutcher is seeking a Team Leader - Dispatch in Adelaide to ensure orders are packed and dispatched on time according to customer specifications. You will supervise pick/packing and dispatch staff, manage weighing, packing and data entry into the online ordering system, and liaise with drivers to meet delivery targets.

You must understand wholesale meat packing, health and safety regulations, and be capable of operating packing equipment.

Job description

As Team leader - Dispatch, your primary role is to ensure that orders are packed and dispatched on time to the customers' specifications in an efficient and timely manner. The position reports directly to the Production Manager/ Logistics Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

Effective management of weighing, recording and packing of meat products for immediate and future dispatch

Supervise and manage staff involved in pick/packing and dispatch operations

Follow approved procedures for weighing, packing and scaling meat products

Ensure orders are packed to the client's specification and requirements

Contribute to controlling freshness and product quality including continual ongoing quality inspection of goods before packing/dispatch

Accurately complete all necessary documentation (online and hard copy)

Liaise with Delivery Drivers and Contractors

Transfer data from picking slips into the online ordering system

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Handle damaged and spoiled products according to Company Policy

About you

Must have knowledge of wholesale packing of meat, public safety and security, food production/processing and of the machines used to pack the meat

Must know and comply with the techniques used to store and handle raw meat products

Adhere to all local, state, and national health code regulations

Ability to operate equipment or machinery

Must be reliable and possess a high degree of integrity

Organised and diligent

Computer aptitude skills including but not limited to a good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as the online ordering systems

Ability to follow procedures and take directions

Ability to work unsupervised

Fast paced and physically fit, able to lift, push and pull up to 25kg

$10 per week mobile phone allowance
