Despatch Manager - Full Time - Darwin Amart Furniture Darwin City, NT, AU
At Amart, we are passionate about helping transform the homes of everyday Australians. We've grown into a true destination for stylish, affordable furniture and homewares and we are proud to be Australia's leading furniture retailer. Our stores are powered by passionate people who bring energy, care and drive to everything they do.
That's the Amart DNA.
As a Despatch Manager you will lead a team of Despatch Team Members, and you will be responsible for planning and delegating the workflow of each day.
You'll love staying active, as this role requires frequent heavy lifting, and you'll need to champion the focus of safety in the workplace by educating and leading your team on the policies and procedures in place to keep them safe at all times. You'll be actively involved in the movement and handling of stock, including container unloads. Equipment is available to support the team (GOGO, Forklift, Order Stock Picker), with relevant licences preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
You'll be responsible for making sure your team consistently provides exceptional customer service, and you'll do whatever it takes to make sure each customer leaves your dock with a smile.
Safety is paramount at Amart. As a Manager you are expected to champion the importance of working safely at all times. You will contribute to the safety management system by identifying hazards and engaging with the Safety Advisor to review safe work procedures. You are responsible for ensuring your team are trained in all applicable safe work procedures and that they adhere to these at all times.
Your previous leadership or supervisory experience within a warehouse environment will set you up for success in this role. You'll lead by example and challenge your team to grow in their skills, by identifying areas for improvement, and recognizing them when they do well. With many large items of stock constantly coming and going from your dock, you will need to be organised, have attention to detail, and be able to communicate effectively with your team. You'll bring flexibility across weekdays and weekends to support the nature of our retail business.
Our culture is genuinely people-first. If you want more than "just a job" and want a career where you can step, Amart is the place to do it. What you'll love:
