Job summary

UGL Pty Limited is seeking an experienced Designer to support the planning and delivery of a major long-haul fibre infrastructure program across Australia. Working in a GIS-driven environment, you will develop route alignments, assess design options and produce high-quality design outputs that support project delivery.

This newly created role is based at our Campbelltown office and offers an opportunity to contribute from the early stages of a nationally significant telecommunications project.

Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications, long-haul fibre infrastructure.
  • Strong GIS capability, including experience with QGIS and spatial data analysis.
  • Experience in preparing technical designs, reports and project documentation.
  • Understanding of route constructability and infrastructure interfaces.
  • Qualifications in Engineering, Spatial Science, Surveying, Drafting, Design or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.

Join a Major Fibre Infrastructure Program

UGL's Telecommunications business is seeking an experienced Designer to support the planning and delivery of a major long-haul fibre infrastructure program across Australia. Working in a GIS-driven environment, you will develop route alignments, assess design options and produce high-quality design outputs that support project delivery. This newly created role, based at our Campbelltown office, offers the opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant telecommunications infrastructure project from the early stages, helping shape design outcomes across a large-scale program.

The Role

As a Designer, you will work closely with engineering, survey, project controls and delivery teams to develop practical, constructable and compliant fibre route solutions. You’ll contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while working with leading GIS and spatial analysis tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimise fibre route alignments using GIS and spatial analysis tools.
