Job summary

The Hills Grammar School in the Sydney Hills District NSW invites applications for a permanent full-time Design and Technology Teacher commencing Term 1, 2027. The successful applicant will teach Design and Technology across Years 7–12, fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and innovation in a contemporary learning environment.

The role may attract a leadership allowance and supports professional growth.

Qualifications

• Appropriate teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation.
• Demonstrated passion for Design and Technology education.
• Experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting.
• Knowledge of design processes, prototyping, product development and emerging technologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Work effectively and collaboratively within a Faculty team.
• Commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence.
• Capacity to contribute positively to the broader life of the school.

Responsibilities

• Teach Design and Technology to students in Years 7-12.
• Deliver engaging, innovative, and differentiated learning experiences.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of contemporary Design and Technology curriculum programs.
• Be able to support and guide students through major design projects and folios.
• Foster creativity, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking.
• Integrate emerging technologies and industry-relevant practices into teaching and learning.
• Contribute positively to the co-curricular life of the school.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
