Job summary

Alder Group on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design journey from tender through to practical completion, coordinating with clients, consultants and stakeholders to deliver buildable, innovative solutions.

You will influence major community and commercial projects across Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW, driving design excellence while navigating NCC, standards and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Experience managing design on commercial construction projects (Healthcare desirable).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Knowledge of NCC, Australian Standards and statutory requirements.
• Experience delivering Green Star and NABERS accreditation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design process from tender to practical completion.
• Manage consultants and design teams to achieve project objectives.
• Drive value engineering and buildability outcomes that enhance project performance.
• Ensure designs meet client requirements, budgets, program milestones and compliance obligations.
• Coordinate design reviews, approvals and stakeholder engagement.
• Identify and manage design risks while proactively resolving project challenges.
• Provide technical leadership and support throughout procurement and construction phases.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and internal teams.
