Job summary

Common Good Partners in Sydney is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process across construction projects from early development through documentation, delivery and handover. Qualifications

• You’ll have experience managing design on construction projects and be comfortable working with architects, engineers, services consultants and delivery teams.
• You’ll have experience managing the design and delivery of commercial construction projects valued between $50 million and $150 million.
• You’ll understand how design decisions affect programme, procurement, cost and what happens on site.
• Strong communication and organisation skills are essential, along with a working knowledge of the National Construction Code, relevant Australian Standards and design documentation systems.

• Running design meetings, resolving design issues and keeping documentation moving so site teams have the information they need.
• Working with project teams on buildability reviews, value engineering and practical design solutions.

• Identifying design risks early and helping the team work through them.
• Supporting tenders with input on buildability, consultant scopes and design timeframes.
• Managing safety in design workshops and ensuring identified risks are addressed or communicated.
