Job summary

Minor DKL Food Group is seeking a Design & Construction Manager to lead the delivery of new stores, refurbishments and evolving store concepts across our network. You will report to the CEO and shape how our brands look and operate, working with property, marketing, franchise partners, designers, builders and internal stakeholders.

The role is national with some international travel, and offers a senior, influential position for someone with proven capability in retail or multi-site projects and

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level experience in design, construction or project delivery for multi-site retail/hospitality projects.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to lead a team across a varied portfolio.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes, contractors and consultants.

Are you a design and construction leader who wants to shape the next generation of retail and hospitality spaces?

We're looking for a Design & Construction Manager to lead the delivery of new stores, refurbishments and evolving store concepts across our network. While the role will predominantly support The Coffee Club, you'll also have the opportunity to work across our broader portfolio, including exciting new brands and store designs as the business grows.

Who are we?

What is the role?

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you'll lead our Project Management and Retail Design function and oversee the design and construction of new stores, refurbishments, and other network projects.

This is a highly influential role with the opportunity to shape how our stores look, feel, and operate. You'll partner closely with property, marketing. franchise partners, designers, builders, and internal stakeholders to bring new concepts to life and deliver commercially sound, high-quality projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop the Design and Construction team
• Oversee new stores, refurbishments and other network projects from design through to delivery
• Shape practical, commercially viable store designs that bring our brands to life
• Partner with Property to support new site development and future network growth
• Manage project budgets, programmes, risks, contractors and consultants
• Build strong relationships with franchise partners and key stakeholders while improving how projects are delivered

The role may require national and occasional international travel, with some flexibility to travel at short notice.

Who are we looking for?

You're an experienced design, construction or project delivery leader who combines strong commercial judgement with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You know how to lead a team, manage a varied project portfolio and bring people together to achieve great outcomes.

You will bring:

• Significant senior-level experience in construction, design, development or project management
• Experience delivering retail, hospitality or other multi-site construction and fit-out projects
• Strong capability across project delivery, budgets, programmes, contractors and consultants
• Well-developed commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Sound knowledge of Australian building and construction requirements
• A relevant tertiary qualification in construction, project management, architecture, design, property or a related field
