Job summary

Port Macquarie Dermatology is seeking a Registered or Enrolled Nurse to join our specialist dermatology practice in Port Macquarie.

You will provide expert nursing care for dermatology patients, assist the dermatologist in procedures, and gain exposure to phototherapy, patch testing and laser aesthetics with training provided.

APHPRA registration is required; the role offers ongoing professional growth in a supportive, modern clinic.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration is required.
• Training provided to meet role requirements.
• Private dermatology practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist dermatologist in surgical and non-surgical procedures.
• Provide safe, ethical nursing care before, during & after treatment.
• Deliver dermatology treatments such as phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, patch testing; may train for aesthetic laser procedures.
• Work 3–5 days per week.

The successful candidate would play a crucial role in providing expert care and guidance to patients seeking dermatological solutions. Training will be provided to enable any candidate to meet the requirements of the role.

Responsibilities of the position include:

• Assisting dermatologist in surgical and non-surgical procedure
• Providing safe, ethical and comprehensive nursing care: prior to, during & post treatment
• Deliver dermatological treatments- such as phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, patch testing & potentially training for aesthetic treatments (including laser)
• Be able to work 3 to 5 days a week

Current AHPRA registration

Desirable criteria but not essential:

• The desire to pursue a career in dermatological nursing
• Surgical assisting experience
• Aesthetic experience, including the use of IPL/laser
• Laser safety licence
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working in the private practice setting

Remuneration is commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications & level of dermatology experience.
