Job summary

Morayfield State High School, part of the Queensland Department of Education, is seeking a Deputy Principal to provide strategic leadership for the Special Education Program, focusing on inclusive teaching, coaching and case management to support students with diverse learning needs.

The role also leads whole-school reading strategy, EAL/D, staff wellbeing, and Restorative Practices, with awareness of legislation and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal in developing and promoting a shared educational vision for the Special Education Program (SEP) or Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP).
• Demonstrate ethical, values-driven leadership while promoting socially just and inclusive practices within the school community.
• Maintain high expectations for student and staff performance and participate in ongoing professional learning and development.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with parents, government agencies, community groups, industry and business to support the program and its educational goals.
• Apply strategic, future-focused leadership while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies, particularly those relating to students with disability.
