Minarah College is seeking an experienced and highly capable educational leader to join the Executive Leadership Team as Deputy Principal – Secondary.
As part of the College’s leadership restructure, responsibilities previously shared across the Deputy Principal – Teaching & Learning and Deputy Principal – Operations portfolios will be consolidated into this single Deputy Principal – Secondary position.
The successful candidate will provide strategic, instructional and operational leadership across the Secondary School, working closely with the Principal, Executive Leadership Team, Heads of Department, Heads of Discipline, Heads of Stage and teaching staff.
The role requires a leader who can combine strong educational leadership with effective operations, compliance, accountability, staff development and team building.
Provide strategic and instructional leadership across the Secondary School, supporting the implementation of the College’s Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan.
Lead initiatives that strengthen teaching, learning, student achievement, engagement and wellbeing.
Support Heads of Department, Heads of Discipline and Heads of Stage to achieve high standards.
Take overall responsibility for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Secondary timetable using Sentral.
Ensure effective staffing, class organisation, supervision, events and daily operations.
Establish systems that are proactive, efficient and responsive to the needs of the College.
Provide strong leadership in strategic planning and the development and implementation of targeted strategies to improve NAPLAN and HSC outcomes.
Ensure the Secondary School meets all relevant NESA, HSC, regulatory and College requirements.
Maintain oversight of curriculum, assessment, accreditation, reporting and documentation.
Ensure key deadlines are clearly communicated, monitored and met.
Build a collaborative, professional and accountable staff culture.
Provide clear direction, mentoring and feedback.
Support professional development, strengthen teamwork and address performance and operational matters promptly and professionally.
Provide leadership in student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and engagement.
Ensure consistent implementation of College policies.
Promote a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
Maintain clear and professional communication with staff, students and parents.
Work collaboratively with families and stakeholders to address concerns, support student outcomes and promote the College’s values and Islamic ethos.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contribute to whole-College strategic planning, policy development and decision-making.
Work collaboratively across Primary and Secondary.
Support the Principal in implementing College-wide priorities and initiatives.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
Appropriate teaching and tertiary qualifications, together with current NESA accreditation.
Significant educational leadership experience within a secondary school setting.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the secondary curriculum, assessment requirements, NESA regulations and HSC requirements.
Demonstrated experience in school operations, including Sentral timetabling.
Strong organisational, communication and people-leadership skills.
A proven ability to meet compliance obligations and organisational deadlines.
A demonstrated commitment to academic improvement, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
A strong commitment to the Islamic ethos, values and educational vision of Minarah College.
