Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a Deputy Principal Inclusion and Support at Kempsey West Public School. This strategic, non-teaching leadership role focuses on inclusion, improving learning, wellbeing and independence for students with disabilities within a whole-school culture of high expectations.

The position aligns with the Deputy Principal role, emphasising Leading Teaching & Learning, Developing Self & Others, and Engaging with the Community.

Qualifications

• Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
• Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
• Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead a school-wide culture that values inclusion and equity and apply inclusion principles for students with disability.
• Demonstrate expertise and proven experience in supporting students with disability.
• Develop staff capacity to promote learning and wellbeing growth for students with disability through evidence-informed practices.
• Foster positive relationships with students, families, staff and allied health professionals to collaborate on reasonable adjustments.
• Use data to improve outcomes for students with disability and inform the Strategic Improvement Plan.
