Job summary

Emmaus Christian College is seeking a Deputy Head of Junior School – Pastoral Care to lead pastoral initiatives across the Junior School, working closely with teachers and wellbeing teams to promote student welfare and leadership opportunities.

The role requires a committed Christian with a passion for biblically-based education, a capable classroom teacher with F-6 experience, and strong collaborative leadership to monitor student tone and implement policies.

Qualifications

• Committed Christian with a deep desire to serve Jesus Christ as Lord.
• Demonstrated passion for Biblically based Christian education.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective classroom teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to work positively in a team environment.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
• Collaborative approach to work.
• Teaching load includes F-6.
• Current Teachers’ Registration, Working With Children Check, RRHAN-EC and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with classroom teachers, Learning Support Team and Student Wellbeing Team on student welfare concerns.
• Develop and implement coordinated, restorative pastoral care for students.
• Support and enhance student leadership opportunities.
• Implement the F-6 Social & Emotional Learning curriculum with Head of Junior School.
• Support Head of Junior School to monitor student tone and maintain a visible presence.
• Collaborate with College staff on policies related to student behaviour, uniform, standards and policies.
• Provide leadership to Junior School staff with Deputy where appropriate, including performance reviews.
