Job summary

Downer Professional Services in Canberra is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer to contribute to Engineering Plans and oversee governance and compliance. You will ensure EMS performance and maintain AEO certification, while guiding project artefacts to meet Defence standards.

The role requires AGSVA security clearance and an ability to coordinate across Engineering, Logistics and Cyber functions to deliver high-quality outcomes for Defence clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with Australian and International Defence standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of EMS/Engineering Management System.
• Ability to lead governance and compliance reviews.
• Ability to provide direction across projects on standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews and analysis to assure EMS performance for AEO certification.
• Review engineering artefacts and project-level plans for standards compliance.
• Provide direction on Australian and international standards and Defence requirements.
• Lead continual improvement actions across Engineering, Logistics and Cyber.
