Job summary

Central Queensland Oral Health Service, part of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, is inviting dentists to join a collaborative team delivering comprehensive general dentistry across the Capricorn Coast and beyond. You will work with students and experienced clinicians, expanding your skills in a supportive environment.

Role includes outreach clinics, travel up to five business days, and a strong focus on community oral health and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with AHPRA and hold a current annual practising certificate.
• Licensed to use dental radiation equipment and able to obtain a Medicare provider number for CQHHS locations.
• Competence in general dentistry and public health dentistry approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality general dentistry from preventive care to restorations, extractions and dentures with referrals as needed.
• Collaborate with experienced clinicians and supervise dental students where appropriate.
• Travel across Central Queensland, primarily to Capricorn Coast Community Dental Clinic, with outreach clinics and stays up to five business days.
• Contribute to quality improvement and build partnerships with the community.

And we don't stop there! Our fixed and mobile school dental clinics help bring oral health care closer to children and families across the region.

About the role:

• Deliver great dental care. Provide high-quality general dentistry to eligible patients, from preventive care and restorations to extractions and dentures, with referrals to specialists when needed.
• Keep growing your skills. Work alongside experienced clinicians, supervise dental students where appropriate, participate in professional development and expand your clinical experience, including Regional or General Anaesthesia where trained.
• Take dentistry beyond the clinic. Work across Central Queensland, primarily at the Capricorn Coast Community Dental Clinic, with opportunities to support outreach clinics in places such as Biloela, Woorabinda and Mount Morgan. Some travel and stays of up to five business days may be required.
• Be part of something bigger. Work with a supportive multidisciplinary team to improve oral health services, promote healthy smiles, contribute to quality improvement and build strong partnerships across the community.

About you:

• You're a registered Dentist with AHPRA, hold a current annual practising certificate and have the required licence to use dental radiation equipment. You'll also be ready to obtain a Medicare provider number for the relevant CQHHS locations.
• You're confident across the general dental scope of practice, including extractions, restorations, dentures and preventive dentistry, with a strong understanding of public health dentistry.
• Understand patient needs, communicate with care and can confidently respond to concerns while working within relevant dental legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
• Enjoy working with oral health and multidisciplinary teams, build positive relationships across the organisation and are committed to professional development, continuous learning and great communication.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $170,573 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $64.47 - $75.39 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
