Job summary

Channel Dental Care in Tasmania is seeking a friendly, reliable Full-Time Dental Assistant to support dentists and keep the day running smoothly. You’ll help prepare rooms, assist during procedures, maintain infection control and ensure patients feel comfortable.

You'll join a team that values a warm welcome, teamwork and a positive patient experience. The role offers consistent hours, with an RDO every fortnight and stable, supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• WWVP registration in Tasmania (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous dental assisting experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists and clinicians during dental procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure readiness.
• Set up and pack down rooms between patients.
• Prepare instruments, materials and equipment.
• Clean, sterilise and maintain instruments and equipment.
• Follow infection control and sterilisation procedures.
• Support patients and help them feel comfortable.
• Provide a warm and friendly welcome to patients.
• Maintain clean, organised, stocked clinical areas.
• Assist with stock management and ordering as needed.
• Support the wider practice team with daily tasks.
• Work closely with clinicians to keep the day running smoothly.

Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll be an important part of the clinical team, supporting our dentists and making sure our patients receive exceptional care.

Your day will include:

• Assisting dentists and clinicians during a variety of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring everything is ready to go
• Setting up and packing down rooms between patients
• Preparing instruments, materials and equipment
• Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment
• Following strict infection control and sterilisation procedures
• Supporting patients throughout their appointments and helping them feel comfortable
• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to patients
• Maintaining clean, organised and well-stocked clinical areas
• Assisting with stock management and ordering when required
• Supporting the wider practice team with day-to-day tasks
• Working closely with clinicians and the wider team to keep the day running smoothly

Qualifications

• Hold a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or be willing to obtain one
