Job summary

Channel Dental Care in Tasmania is seeking a friendly Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our clinical team. You’ll support dentists, prepare treatment rooms, and help ensure a smooth patient experience from arrival through checkout.

We value reliability, a positive attitude and teamwork, with emphasis on infection control and patient comfort. Tasmanian WWVP registration or willingness to obtain one is preferred.

Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll be an important part of the clinical team, supporting our dentists and making sure our patients receive exceptional care.

Your day will include:

• Assisting dentists and clinicians during a variety of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and ensuring everything is ready to go
• Setting up and packing down rooms between patients
• Preparing instruments, materials and equipment
• Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment
• Following strict infection control and sterilisation procedures
• Supporting patients throughout their appointments and helping them feel comfortable
• Providing a warm and friendly welcome to patients
• Maintaining clean, organised and well-stocked clinical areas
• Assisting with stock management and ordering when required
• Supporting the wider practice team with day-to-day tasks
• Working closely with clinicians and the wider team to keep the day running smoothly

Qualifications

You’ll ideally be:

• Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment
• Calm under pressure and able to juggle competing priorities
• Someone who takes pride in their work
• Keen to learn and develop their dental assisting skills
• Passionate about providing great patient care
• Hold a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or be willing to obtain one

Previous dental assisting experience is highly regarded, but attitude is just as important. If you’re enthusiastic, willing to learn and genuinely enjoy helping people, we want to hear from you!
