Job summary

East Adelaide Dental Studio in Glenside, SA is hiring a Dental Assistant to support the Dental Practitioner with patient preparation, instrument handling, X-ray processing, and sterilisation. The role includes patient education on dental health and post-operative care, plus front-desk duties and basic billing.

Ideal candidates have AQF Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent, with at least 1 year of clinical support experience and strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Dental Assisting or higher.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Dental Assistant or similar clinical support role.
• Experience receiving and preparing patients for dental examination.
• Experience arranging and handing instruments, medication and other dental requisites to a Dental Practitioner.
• Experience preparing dental materials and processing X-rays.
• Experience sterilising dental instruments and equipment and applying infection control procedures.
• Experience advising patients on dental health education and post-operative care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare patients for dental examination.
• Arrange and hand instruments, medication and other dental requisites to the Dental Practitioner.
• Prepare dental materials and process X-rays.
• Use suction devices and water sprays.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Sterilise and prevent cross infection of equipment.
• Advise patients on dental health education and post-operative care procedures.
• Act as receptionist for the Dental Practitioner.
• Perform billing and other clerical tasks.
