Job summary

The Hospitals Contribution Fund Of Australia Limited is seeking a Casual Dental Assistant to support dentists and the practice manager at Castle Hill Dental Center in Castle Towers. You will assist chair-side, manage instruments, and maintain a safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, maintaining infection control, and participating in WHS activities. Prior dental experience and a Certificate III in Dental Assisting are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assistance to dentists, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment.
• Monitor patient day sheets, prepare for patient lists, and accommodate emergencies where possible.
• Coordinate patient flow, including escorting, settling, and preparing patients for treatment.
• Assist with chair-side duties: instrument and material set-up, procedure support, mixing materials.
• Uphold infection control standards, manage surgery changeover and cleaning, and perform equipment and stock maintenance.
• Process and sterilise instruments, maintain stock levels, and validate sterilisation cycles.
• Report any fraudulent behaviour or activity as required.
• Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Report hazards, near misses, and injuries promptly.
• Participate in meetings, training, and health and safety activities.

Casual Dental Assistant

As a Casual Dental Assistant, you will work alongside our Dentists and Practice Manager to ensure high quality patient care, compliance with our Dental Quality Management System, and the smooth running of day to day operations of our Castle Hill Dental Center. Please note this is a Casual Dental Assistant position based in our Castle Hill Dental center located in Castle Towers.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy.
• Desirable: Reception experience or willingness to be cross-trained.
• Qualifications in radiography, sterilising, and/or first aid.
• Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
