Dental Assistant – Community Dental Clinic

About the role

You will

  • Assist the dental clinicians chairside during treatments and examinations, information and follow ups with patients, delivering these services in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Prepare and provide equipment, dental materials and instruments for patients according to dental treatments
  • Maintain a clean, safe and culturally welcoming environment through proper sterilisation and infection control practices
  • Help keep the clinic running smoothly with bookings, stock control and day-to-day administration procedures
  • Participate in oral health promotions
  • Work as part of the dental team and broader AWAHS team to provide accurate information to patients and the community
What We Are Looking For

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate 111 in Dental Assisting or equivalent with more than 12 months clinical experience and knowledge in dental nursing
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection control procedures
  • A caring, people-first attitude and a strong attention to detail
  • A team player who can take initiative and work with pride
  • A commitment to cultural respect, confidentiality, and delivering person-centred dental care that is responsive to each individual’s needs and experiences
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to use computerised patient information systems
  • Current Driver’s License
