Job summary

Alzheimer's Queensland on the Gold Coast is seeking compassionate Dementia Respite Assistants to provide centre-based respite care and community support. This casual role supports clients living with dementia to stayIndependent and engaged, both in a respite centre and in the community.

You will contribute to meaningful days, build relationships with clients and families, and support daily living tasks with a patient, person-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting older people and those living with dementia.
• Strong communication skills and a patient approach.
• Current First Aid & CPR.
• Driver's Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide centre-based respite care in a dementia/support setting.
• Support clients to stay engaged, active and connected.
• Build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
• Assist with personal care, meals and daily living tasks.
• Maintain clear communication and documentation.
