Job summary

Accenture in Ballarat is seeking an experienced Senior Dell Storage and Backup Administrator to own storage performance, capacity planning and data protection across Dell PowerMAX, NetWorker, Data Domain and ECS. You will lead complex recovery activities and work closely with infrastructure, virtualization and database teams.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on expertise with Dell EMC products, ITIL processes and strong stakeholder communication.

• Strong Dell EMC NetWorker administration skills including client configuration and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Administer Dell PowerMAX storage arrays including provisioning and performance tuning.
• Manage Dell EMC NetWorker backup infrastructure and recovery operations.
• Administer Dell Data Domain appliances for replication, capacity management and monitoring.
• Manage Dell ECS for enterprise object storage workloads.
• Monitor storage capacity and performance and provide trend analysis and planning recommendations.
• Lead data-recovery activities and ensure backup compliance reporting.
• Collaborate with server, virtualization and database teams on storage design and integration.
• Maintain runbooks and capacity plans; contribute to storage upgrade projects.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Dell Storage and Backup Administrator to support a large-scale enterprise environment.

You will take ownership of storage performance, capacity planning and data protection across Dell PowerMAX, NetWorker, Data Domain and ECS platforms. You will also lead complex recovery activities, resolve Level 3 incidents and work closely with infrastructure, virtualisation and database teams.

This role would suit a hands‑on storage specialist who enjoys solving complex problems, improving platform performance and providing trusted technical guidance.

What you’ll do

• Administer Dell PowerMAX storage arrays, including provisioning, performance tuning and lifecycle management.
• Manage Dell EMC NetWorker backup infrastructure, including client configuration, policies, schedules and recovery operations.
• Administer Dell Data Domain appliances across replication, capacity management and performance monitoring.
• Manage Dell ECS for enterprise object-storage workloads.
• Monitor storage capacity and performance and provide clear trend analysis and planning recommendations.
• Lead data‑recovery activities and manage backup compliance reporting.
• Resolve complex Level 3 storage and backup incidents.
• Participate in change advisory processes for storage‑related changes.
• Collaborate with server, virtualisation and database teams on storage design and integration.
• Maintain technical documentation, including runbooks, architecture records and capacity plans.
• Contribute to storage upgrade and technology‑refresh projects.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in enterprise storage and backup administration, ideally within a complex, large‑scale environment.
• Expert hands‑on experience with Dell PowerMAX or VMAX storage arrays.
• Strong Dell EMC NetWorker administration skills, including client configuration, policy management and recovery.
• Proficiency in Dell Data Domain administration, including replication and Boost protocol.
• Experience administering Dell ECS object storage.
• Sound understanding of SAN fabric concepts and Fibre Channel zoning.
• The ability to analyse storage performance data and provide practical capacity‑planning recommendations.
• Experience working within ITIL‑based incident, change and problem‑management processes.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Ballarat.

Bonus points if you have

• Dell storage certifications such as DECS or DCS.
• VMware vSphere storage integration experience across VMFS and NFS datastores.
• Brocade or Cisco MDS SAN fabric administration experience.
• Familiarity with Dell Unity or PowerStore.
• PowerShell or Python scripting and automation skills.
