Job summary

Pepperstone Group seeks an experienced Delivery Lead, Data to translate business priorities into a clear delivery roadmap for the global Enterprise Data function. You will lead complex data initiatives across multiple squads, balancing scope, time and quality while coordinating business, technology and data teams.

This is a delivery leadership role, not hands-on engineering, with governance and regulatory considerations, and a focus on outcomes and value delivery.

As our Delivery Lead, Data, you’ll play a pivotal role in turning business priorities into a clear and achievable delivery roadmap for our global Enterprise Data function. You’ll lead the delivery of complex data initiatives across multiple squads, bringing structure to ambiguity and ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope and to agreed quality standards.

This is a delivery leadership role rather than a hands‑on engineering position. You’ll bring together business, technology and data teams, navigate dependencies outside the team’s direct control and help ensure the data we deliver is trusted, timely and aligned with our governance and regulatory obligations.

As our Delivery Lead, Data, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

• Leading end-to-end delivery of data programmes and the broader data roadmap across multiple squads, aligning priorities and sequencing work against business outcomes
• Owning complex, multi-workstream programmes from initiation through to closure, including programme plans, milestones, governance, budgets, RAID management and benefits realisation
• Driving Agile and DataOps delivery practices across sprint planning, backlog management, estimation, capacity planning and cross-team dependency management
• Managing critical data dependencies across source systems, data providers and engineering teams, factoring readiness, availability and data quality into delivery planning
• Anticipating delivery risks such as upstream changes, outages, schema drift and late or poor-quality data, with practical contingency and fallback plans
• Providing clear delivery reporting to stakeholders, leadership and governance forums with meaningful delivery KPIs, progress updates and transparent escalation of risks
• Partnering with Product, Trading, Risk, Finance and Marketing to translate business goals into achievable plans and negotiate priorities that maximise value
• Managing demand intake and governance so work is clearly defined, prioritised and appropriately resourced before entering delivery
• Embedding governance, security and regulatory requirements into the delivery lifecycle in partnership with Risk, Compliance and Security
• Setting high delivery standards across quality, documentation and audit readiness
• Managing vendor and partner relationships supporting data platform tooling and delivery
• Building strong cross-functional relationships and influencing outcomes without relying on direct authority

About you

You’re an experienced delivery leader who understands that delivering data outcomes comes with a unique set of challenges. You know how to plan around source-system dependencies, changing data availability and quality issues while keeping teams and stakeholders aligned on realistic outcomes.

You’ll bring:

• 8+ years’ experience in data or technology delivery with a strong track record of leading data programmes, initiatives or teams, ideally within financial services
• Demonstrated experience delivering large, multi-workstream programmes, including planning, milestones, budgets, dependencies, RAID and governance
• Strong delivery leadership using Agile methodologies, with proven planning, prioritisation, risk management and stakeholder engagement capability
• A sound understanding of the complexities of data delivery, including upstream dependencies, data availability, data quality, data contracts and delivery sequencing
• A track record of delivering data or analytics outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Working knowledge of the data lifecycle, including data pipelines, warehousing, analytics and business intelligence, without needing to be a hands‑on engineer
• Familiarity with contemporary cloud-native data technologies, ideally within an AWS environment
• Experience delivering in a regulated environment, ideally within a global organisation
• Strong critical thinking and commercial acumen with the ability to explain delivery risks and trade‑offs in terms of business impact
• The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
• A proactive approach and comfort operating in environments where there may be ambiguity
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration, relationship‑building and influencing skills
