Job summary

Anson Mccade is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with strong DevOps, platform engineering and automation capability to join a leading defence technology organisation in Canberra.

You will design automation for software builds, testing, deployment and infrastructure, support CI/CD, and manage platforms from development through to operational environments onsite. The role requires collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Three years' experience in software engineering, DevOps or related role.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Strong config management and source control practices.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform.
• Linux experience, preferably in RHEL environments.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration platforms.
• Understanding of application development, build and deployment processes.
• Experience in secure development environments.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• Familiarity with Cross Domain Solutions concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automation for builds, tests and deployment.
• Support CI/CD processes and platform reliability.
• Manage platforms from development to production environments.
• Provide BAU support including incident management.
• Monitor and improve platform performance and security.
• Collaborate across engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Document architectures using standard patterns.
• Assist deployment and scaling of containerised apps.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex technical problems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project deliverables.
