Job summary

Austal is seeking multiple skilled tradespeople to join one of Australia's largest naval shipbuilding programs in Henderson, Western Australia. This long‑term opportunity covers several trades and offers stable work on a major defence project.

Roles include Boilermakers, Tube Fitters, Mechanical Fitters and Plumbers. You’ll work from drawings, install and maintain piping, mechanical and structural systems, with a safety‑first culture and a Monday to Thursday roster.

Qualifications

• Relevant Australian recognised Trade Certificate
• Experience in your trade discipline highly regarded but not essential
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings preferred
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, fit-out, installation and assembly of shipbuilding components
• Working from drawings, specifications and work instructions
• Installation and maintenance of piping, mechanical and structural systems
• Welding, fitting and general trade-based activities relevant to your discipline
• Working safely within a collaborative shipbuilding environment
• Contributing to the successful delivery of major defence projects
