Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced Principal/Technical Director Security (Defence) to lead complex Defence, security-sensitive and critical infrastructure projects across Australia. You will provide technical leadership in security engineering, Defence facilities and secure ICT environments, backed by a strong track record and SCEC Endorsed Security Consultant status.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years' experience, NV1 level clearance, and proven capability to lead multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in systems design, delivery and leadership.
• Current SCEC Endorsed Security Consultant accreditation.
• Proven experience delivering Defence, secure government, critical infrastructure or security‑sensitive projects.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing major projects.
• Strong understanding of Defence security requirements and security engineering principles.
• Defence security clearance (NV1).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Defence and security projects across Australia.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage programme, budget and risk.
• Engage with clients and industry partners to grow Defence and Security portfolio.
• Develop and assure secure facility, ICT and critical infrastructure designs.
• Mentor engineers and drive engineering excellence across projects.
• Contribute to strategic growth and market development initiatives.
