Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Melbourne seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead the design delivery for an Estate Works Program portfolio. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, manage programme, budget and design quality, and work with project managers and stakeholders to deliver compliant, safe design solutions.

The role requires strong leadership, governance understanding and the ability to influence diverse technical teams in a complex infrastructure setting.

Qualifications

• Strong design management capability and ability to lead teams in complex infrastructure projects.
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary groups.
• Experience working in regulated environments with governance and standards awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead the resourcing, coordination and delivery of design packages across a portfolio of projects.
• Manage programme, scope, budget and design quality to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Work closely with project managers, technical teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver compliant solutions.
• Drive safe design practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to achieve milestones on time and within budget.
• Support effective risk, change and document management throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide clear, timely and transparent communication on project progress, issues and recommended actions.
• Contribute to team capability, technical leadership and continuous improvement across the design function.
