Job summary

Thales Australia is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract at Bendigo, Victoria. You will design, integrate and verify mechanical and mechatronic systems for Defence land vehicle programmes, supporting lifecycle activities from requirements through to acceptance.

The role requires proficiency with Creo Parametric, strong documentation skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions that

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Experience in Defence, road vehicle or complex integrated systems environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, structural analysis and vehicle integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and support mechanical and mechatronic systems and subsystems.
• Develop mechanical solutions for complex operational environments.
• Produce and review technical drawings, 3D models, assemblies and documentation using Creo Parametric.
• Develop and maintain engineering artefacts including requirements, specifications, interface definitions, design descriptions and test procedures.
• Conduct lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, design, integration, verification, validation and acceptance.
• Support the design and integration of land vehicle systems.
• Analyze mechanical, structural, thermal and electromechanical systems for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and project teams to deliver outcomes.
