Job summary

Scyne Advisory in Canberra seeks a highly capable Export Controls Professional to lead the Export Controls Coordinator function for Defence projects. You will oversee complex compliance activities, liaising with government stakeholders to ensure strategies are secure and aligned with national interests.

The role requires NV1 clearance, extensive Australian Defence export controls experience, and strong procurement/contract administration capabilities, with a focus on ethical advisory within the

Qualifications

• NV1 security clearance is a mandatory minimum requirement.
• Extensive export controls experience in Australian Defence.
• Deep knowledge of Defence Trade Controls Act, ITAR and EAR.
• Experience in procurement, commercial management and contract administration.
• Commitment to ethical, transparent advisory in the public interest.

Responsibilities

• Lead Export Controls Coordinator activities for Defence projects.
• Monitor and update compliance with Australian and US export controls regimes.
• Maintain Export Controls registers and related agreements.
• Review data sharing proposals for compliance and manage DEC permits.
• Provide advisory support on FMS, DCS and CPs.
• Engage stakeholders across IEC, DEC and external partners to secure outcomes.
• Support procurement and commercial objectives within the branch.
