Job summary

Randstad Defence partners with a prominent global defence organisation to recruit a Cybersecurity Engineer based in Sydney. The role strengthens cybersecurity infrastructure and ICT systems for critical defence initiatives while offering flexibility and strong employee benefits.

The successful candidate will design secure architectures, draft security policies, prepare accreditation plans for Authority to Operate, and conduct risk assessments including vulnerability testing and mitigation in

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualifications in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years as a Cybersecurity Engineer.
• Experience on Australian defence/government projects.
• Knowledge of software and systems engineering methodologies.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Android, VMs, networking, and Python scripting.
• Certifications such as CISSP or CompTIA Security+ are desirable.
• Background in DevSecOps and penetration testing is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure hardware and software architectures for defence specs.
• Draft ICT security policies and procedures aligned with standards.
• Prepare accreditation plans and documentation to secure ATO.
• Identify vulnerabilities and apply security patches.
• Perform or support penetration testing and ICT evaluations.
• Log risks and collaborate on mitigation with ICT teams.
