Deckhand – 50m Private MY | Sydney-Based | Australia

Are you a deckhand in Australia who is available for an immediate start?

An excellent opportunity for an ambitious deckhand to join a 50m private motor yacht operating primarily out of Sydney, with cruising throughout the Gold Coast (yard times) and Whitsundays.

Working closely with an experienced Bosun and Chief Officer, this position offers the chance to develop your skills in a professional environment, with hands-on training in tender driving, engineering and general deck operations.

Position Highlights

• Sydney-based for approximately 10 months of the year, with potential to travel during winter
• Liveaboard (preference) or live ashore options in Sydney
• Long-term opportunity, with sponsorship potentially available for the right candidate to remain in Australia
• Open to candidates on Working Holiday Visas
• Paid in AUD, plus superannuation and four weeks’ annual leave, DOE
• Immediate start preferred

The Vessel & Opportunity

A well-maintained, low-use private yacht with a lovely, personable Australian owner. This is an opportunity to join a close-knit team, learn from experienced senior crew and build your practical skills across deck operations, tender handling and engineering.

Candidates must be comfortable participating in the vessel’s watch roster and keen to commit to a long-term position.

Requirements

• Valid STCW and seafarer medical
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to participate in a watch roster
• Immediate availability preferred, with priority given to candidates already in Australia
• Male candidates only due to shared cabin arrangements
