Primary Connect is Australia’s expansive food and retail supply chain network. We seek an Operations Manager to lead daily DC operations, drive safety, service, people and value across our distribution network.

You will coach teams, monitor KPIs, manage budgets, and collaborate with 3PLs and internal partners to optimise processes and deliver world-class supply chain outcomes. This role offers strong career growth within a global group.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in operational leadership within FMCG, distribution or retail.
• Hands-on OH&S knowledge and incident investigation experience.
• Experience implementing change initiatives with Lean or Six Sigma.
• Strong budgeting, KPI management and strategic planning skills.
• Collaborative approach with internal teams, unions and regulators.
• Mentoring and career development focus.
• Formal qualifications in business, logistics, or supply-chain operations are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day distribution centre (DC) operations, driving safety, service, people and value.
• Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
• Manage DC KPIs, budget alignment and resource planning.
• Enforce safety culture and SH&E policies; lead incident investigations.
• Identify and apply lean or Six Sigma improvements to DC processes.
• Manage relationships with 3PLs, labour hire and transport carriers.
• Collaborate with Food Group, shift leaders, workforce planning and unions.
• Lead business planning and talent development through structured reviews.
