Job summary

Unisus Group is seeking an experienced chef or cook for a permanent part-time role, delivering high-quality café and catering dishes from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Join a close-knit team at the Avalon location and help drive seasonal menus, cost targets and food safety.

Qualifications

Experience as a chef or highly experienced cook in a commercial kitchen.
Ability to confidently prepare a broad variety of café and catering dishes.
Experience in catering, high-volume production or corporate food service.
Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
Strong organisation and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Preparing and cooking a diverse range of café and catering dishes.
Coordinating food preparation for corporate and larger catering orders.
Contributing ideas for seasonal menus, daily specials and new catering products.
Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, consistency and portion control.
Assisting with ordering, stock rotation, waste reduction and inventory management.
Contributing to recipe costing and maintaining agreed food-cost targets.
Ensuring food-safety, allergen and workplace-safety requirements are consistently followed.
Helping organise daily kitchen production and priorities.
Supporting and mentoring team members and workplace trainees.
Communicating effectively with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
